Even After All this time The Sun never says to the Earth,
"You owe me."
Look What happens With a love like that, It lights the whole sky.
Summer solstice marks the longest day of the year, when the sun is at its peak power. The Sun is our life force, and since the beginning of humankind, people have honored this endless generosity. I'm not really one for formal rituals, so these are all pretty loose. Dress em up, dress em down~
We're at the halfway point in the wheel of the year, so it's a great time to check back in with our mid-winter intentions, aka New Year's Resolutions. Do we need to refine those intentions? Do those intentions still hold significance for us, or should we let them go? What do we hope to carry into the second half of the year? (Don't be afraid to let stuff go, it doesn't mean it's a failure, or that you're a quitter! I've found that many of my winter intentions are no longer relevant to my goals, which just means there's been a lot of growth in the last 6 months, and that's not a bad thing.)(Also can you believe this year is half over!?)
The Sun represents and fuels fire energy, so light some candles, have a bonfire, and let your actions be guided by your feelings. (After all, the Sun is entering watery emotional Cancer.) Dance, journal, burn your journal entries, go out with friends, give yourself a break and do nothing, whatever you want, whatever you need.
Mirror the sun's generosity and give selflessly, without any expectation of reciprocity. Let go of any resentments against people who "owe" you, and your heart will feel lighter.
